Nadine Powell Bio
Nadine is a costume designer experienced in designing for many different eras and size of production, from independent films to large scale episodic period HETV dramas, thriving on all challenges.
She is equally comfortable and passionate designing and creating the look of the unusual, quirky, contemporary, such as ‘Crime’ by Irvine Welsh, whilst also embracing large scale designing for period drama, most recently designing the latest season of the Eighteenth century fantasy drama ‘Outlander’.
Her experience encompasses working with large workrooms, dye, breakdown, fabric art, embroidery, beadwork, embellishment, leatherwork and more recently creating garments out of fabrics hand-woven in house to her designs.
Throughout her design process she combines her knowledge of historical costume, love of detail and a passion for the visual that stems from her early background studying fine art/ painting at Chelsea college of Art.
